River Rock Casino Resort is one of BC’s premier gaming, entertainment and hospitality facilities located in Richmond. There is a wide selection of table games and slot machines for gambling, a 396-room hotel for accommodation, a luxury dining facility for simple dining, an indoor swimming pool and spa for relaxation.
Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification is an independent third-party assessment of buildings and facilities based on a variety of accessibility criteria, including entrances, elevators, toilets and parking lots. RHFAC certification means that people who need access can fully enjoy all amenities at a particular destination. And River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond is now one of those places.
This certification is another testament to the casino’s commitment to providing accessibility and inclusiveness to all employees and customers. The news is also reported during National Access Week, which runs from May 28 to June 3 in Canada. This corresponds to the property’s commitment to building and maintaining its objectives, values, and supporting environment, and to making sure everyone is welcome.
Rishi Khaira, general manager of River Rock Casino Resort, said a few things on the RHFAC news. She said the certification creates a comprehensive space for people with disabilities while helping the facility promote awareness. She added that the company is happy to be recognized and will continue to break down the barriers facing people with disabilities today.
RHFAC certification also ensures that casino team members have the opportunity to work and thrive equally in an environment that values diversity and increases accessibility, and the achievements aim to establish new industry standards for gambling and accommodation across Canada.
In March 2023, Great Canadian Entertainment announced that it would open the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, located at the intersection of Highway 401 and Highway 427 in the summer of 2023. The new site will be close to Woodbine Racecourse, with a premium Las Vegas-style casino and will be accompanied by a 400-room hotel, a 5,000-seat live entertainment venue and several restaurant facilities.
