Paradise Co Casino July Revenue Up 110 pct mo-m

Paradise Inc., South Korea’s foreign-only casino operator, posted a 296.5 percent year-on-year increase in casino sales to 27.36 billion won in July.

On a month-over-month basis, the company posted a gain of 110.0%. The company did not say why it improved.

The last week of July 2021 coincided with South Korean authorities imposing four-tier rules on social distancing, the toughest of the COVID-19 response measures at the time, in areas of the capital, including Incheon.

The group’s table game sales rose 138.4% sequentially to 24.9 billion won in July 2022, compared with a 399.6% year-on-year increase, according to data submitted to the Korea Exchange on Tuesday.

Machine game sales fell 4.8% month-on-month to 2.46 billion won in July this year, but increased 28.2% year-on-year.

In the year to July 2022, Paradise’s cumulative casino revenue was W128.35 billion, up 7.4% year-over-year.

Table drops, the amount customers exchanged for chips at the table, rose 74.2% month-on-month to nearly 235.49 billion won in July. The year-on-year increase in July was 63.9%.

Total declines for the year to July 31 were nearly 975.23 billion won, down 4.2% from the same period in 2021.

The company’s casino division consists of Walkerhill in Seoul, Paradise Jeju in Jeju Island, real estate in the port city of Busan, and Paradise City in Incheon, with the latter operating through Japan’s Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. and ventures.
